How to Get Involved

Cookbook Committee
Chair: Sara Rogers

Several years ago, the Cookbook Committe collected hundreds of famous, yummy Citadel recipes and gathered them in one spot called "Catering to the Corps." Now, this committee is dedicated to selling these cookbooks for $10 during Citadel events such as Homecoming Weekend, Parents Weekend, Matriculation Day, and others. Members of this committee work in shifts during these special events to sell cookbooks to parents, students, alumni, and guests. All proceeds from the cookbook sales help fund our cadet scholarships. Keep in mind, though, you don't have to be a member of this committee to sign up to help sell cookbooks. We can always use extra help!

Phone Tree Committee
Chair: Connie Comer

Duties of the committee include calling Club members to offer meeting reminders and recruiting "hospitality" volunteers for various events. Committee members ensure that we have enough people to bring yummy dishes for events such as the Homecoming Bonfire, the Christmas Tea, and the Annual Beach Night. Members of this committee also help provide baked goods during the Garage Sale.

On-Campus Committee
Co-Chairs: English Preston and Tanya Hanchon

The On-Campus Committee is made up of women who live on campus. These women plan block parties, cookouts, and other on-campus gatherings. Other services of the On-Campus Committee includes making dinners for new mommies and coordinating a welcome wagon that brings goodies to new campus residents.

Garage Sale
Chair: Tanya Hanchon

We are seeking volunteers now to help with this year's garage sale. We need organized, courteous saleswomen to help on the day of the sale, but we also need strong, hard-working women (and husbands, too!) to help prepare for the sale. John Carter, for whom our scholarship is named, collects donations year-round to sell at our sale, and he needs help moving and sorting these items on the weekends. In addition, we need help cleaning and pricing inventory during the week.

Scrapbook Club
Chair: Tanya Hanchon

This group of creative, and some not-so-creative, ladies will meet on the first Monday of each month on campus on the first floor of Thompson Hall in The Writing and Learning Center.

Bring your project and your giggle box!
